How Does EACH Pride work?

Sometimes the hardest part is knowing what to actually do. Any effort made for acceptance and equality of trans and gender nonconforming people generally falls within one of the five roles below. These are listed in order of least to greatest requirement of personal visibility. Choosing your role is the first step in focusing your effort. Sharing your role with others will make your own work go further by showing how it adds to a shared big picture. Which role best fits you?

Empowerment

Assuming the role of Empowerment means making a focused effort to help people build their platform by whatever means you can offer, such as social media engagement, supporting businesses, voting in elections, etc.

Want to amplify community leaders and role models? It starts with a simple action: engage online. Likes, comments, shares, and follows are free and effortless ways to support and uplift those who need it most. By being active on social media, we can make a significant impact without stepping out of our comfort zones.

Even if you can't be openly involved, you still have the power to contribute to the fight for acceptance. It's as easy as using social media to amplify voices and stories that deserve to be heard. From the comfort of your couch, you can help elevate rising leaders by engaging with their content.

Supporting queer businesses takes empowerment to the next level. By patronizing and promoting queer businesses, we can help create economic opportunities for our community. The ideal attitude is to pay that forward and uplift more individuals on their own journey to success.

Support

Assuming the role of Support means actively fostering meaningful connections and enabling others toward resources that sustain their mental and emotional health.

A listening ear and a caring presence are invaluable in anyone's life. Peer support is a vital resource we can offer to one another, fostering a sense of community and well-being. By actively opening our doors to meaningful conversations, we can make a difference in the lives of transgender individuals. Financial barriers often hinder access to mental health resources, meaning compassion from a stranger is sometimes a lifeline.

Even those with regular access to professional help benefit from peer support. EACHpride prioritizes creating connections among individuals who share similar life experiences, united in the goal of supporting and uplifting one another. Recognizing the significance of occupation: we are developing support networks based on fields of work, fostering both personal growth and professional networking opportunities.

By extending a helping hand and forging connections, we create layers of community that share coping skills and perspectives. If you possess empathy and wisdom, we encourage you to make them available to others. Embrace the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. Remember: people who need each other are waiting to meet each other.

Activism

Assuming the role of Activism means creating awareness and effecting real change through personal action. Showing up to speak out, signing petitions, participating in public proceedings, voting conscientiously in elections and joining forces with others locally.

To bring about meaningful social change, we must raise awareness and take action. It's not enough to stay silent; some issues demand our voices to be heard. By joining demonstrations, signing petitions, participating in public proceedings, and voting thoughtfully in elections, we propel progress forward. Staying informed is key, and having accessible resources ensures we stay up-to-date on critical issues. Together, we can amplify our impact by rallying more people to join these efforts and speak out.

EACHpride embodies a community of solidarity and engagement. Activism thrives when we come together in numbers, and our mission is to strengthen grassroots organizers by connecting them within our community. By providing a platform for visibility and connection, we empower local leaders and make it easier for individuals to get involved in the work happening in their own communities.

To begin your involvement, reach out to local community leaders in your area. Their work thrives when it's visible, and we're here to facilitate that connection. Let's join forces, amplify their voices, and make a difference where we are. EACHpride is meant to be a gateway to engaged activism.

Advocacy

Assuming the role of Advocacy means taking the time to engage productively with transphobic discussions and convey the facts in a relatable and diplomatic way. EACHpride's essential message is

"We will never go away"

While activism raises awareness, advocacy brings awareness to fruition through personal dialogue. Advocacy involves engaging constructively in transphobic discussions, conveying facts diplomatically and relatably. It's vulnerable and often exhausting, but it has the power to dismantle prejudice and hatred. It's work that must be done.

EACHpride stands as a movement of advocacy. While legislative and political climates may improve rapidly, social perception takes time. It's crucial for the well-being of future generations of transgender people that we dismantle stigmas and prejudice now.

We are committed to consolidating learning resources to equip more trans people with the knowledge they need to confidently engage in advocacy opportunities. Our ultimate goal is to make this the last generation that has to fight these battles. The fundamental point we aim to establish is that transgender and gender nonconforming people will never go away. Once this foundation is accepted, the more nuanced discussions can actually happen.

The entire theory behind EACHpride is that the very diversity of our community itself is our own best representation. People do want to have these discussions, sometimes they just need the right person to talk it over with. EACHpride exists to get more of those conversations happening between the right people in order to speed along this ongoing societal discussion over trans rights.

NOTE: ADVOCACY LEADERS SHOULD ALL KNOW EACH OTHER. WE ARE IN THE ACTUAL TRENCHES FIGHTING HAND-TO-HAND IN THE BATTLE FOR EQUALITY. WE SHOULD ALL KNOW EACH OTHER AND SHARE RESOURCES TOGETHER.

Representation

Assuming the role of Representation means using your own visibility, platform, audience, and other participation in public life to blaze trails and create space for others.

Each of us has become an ambassador by circumstance. Being openly queer at all is a form of representation to some degree. If you're out of the closet, odds are you've broken barriers somewhere already. We want to share your stories about that. You don't need to be an activist to be a trailblazer, many of us are breaking barriers just by going to work in the morning.

Visibility serves a greater purpose: providing representation for others like us. Being seen affirms our existence which can alleviate feelings of loneliness for those who share our experiences. It also educates those who are not like us, showing that we're not actually that different.

EACHpride is dedicated to expanding representation within the diverse transgender and gender nonconforming communities. To achieve this, we must uplift a multitude of voices. We believe that each voice tells an important story that somebody needs to hear.

We hope to encourage and even enable future leaders to use the platforms they build to run for elected offices. We are a small segment of the population but significant enough to warrant public discussion. We need to be there for that public discussion, especially when laws are made over it.
